Perhaps you could have another go! Joseph’s brothers really were sorry for the way they had treated him many years before their meeting in Egypt. Have you told the Lord that you are truly sorry for the sins that you are guilty of? If you haven’t yet then you must do so – you must repent – today.
#1 Have you watched the lesson?
It’s definitely easier to answer the questions if you have!
#2 In today’s lesson we heard about a dream that Pharaoh had. What animals appeared in Pharaoh’s dream?
There were 7 fat cows that were eaten by 7 thin ones. Later, he had another dream about 7 full ears of corn which were eaten by 7 withered ones. When Pharaoh woke up he was very confused and frightened. He knew that the dreams were not ordinary dreams and that they had a meaning.
#3 How was Joseph able to interpret dreams?
It was God Who gave Joseph the meaning of Pharaoh’s dreams.
#4 What did Pharaoh’s dream mean?
After 7 years of great plenty a famine would come and last for 7 more years.
#5 Pharaoh’s dream was there to warn him so that he could be prepared for the famine. How does the Lord God warn us of the day of judgement so that we can be prepared?
God has given us the Bible which contains everything we need to know. It tells us how we can be saved from the punishment that we deserve for our sinful lives so that on the Day of Judgement we will be taken by the Lord Jesus to Heaven.
#6 When the famine came Joseph’s brothers came before him to buy grain. Joseph decided to test his brothers. What did he ask them to do?
Benjamin had stayed at home with his father Jacob. Joseph wanted to see him as well as test his brothers.
#7 Why did Joseph decide to test his brothers?
Joseph wanted to know if his brothers had changed since they sold him into slavery and told his father he had been killed. If they treated Benjamin the same way as they treated him, then he would know that they were not really sorry.
#8 All the while Joseph was testing his brothers he struggled to contain his love for them. He kept having to rush out of the room! How long ago did Jesus’ love for His children begin?
Jesus’ love for His children never had a beginning! He has always loved them, even before the world was created. It was this eternal, infinite love that brought Him into the world and led Him to the cross, and it was this love that kept Him suffering on the cross until all of His children’s sins had been dealt with and paid for. What a Saviour!
