#1 We have learnt today about how Almighty God sent plagues upon Pharaoh and the Egyptian people. What is a plague?
A plague is something which causes great suffering and distress to those it affects.

God did not destroy Pharaoh’s palace or take his gold. He sent him much worse plagues which not only affected Pharaoh, but also the Egyptian people.
#3 Why did God send the plagues to Pharaoh?
Pharaoh constantly refused to release the Israelite slaves (Gods people), so God sent him plague after plague to punish him for his cruelty and hardness of heart. This also demonstrated God’s great power to all those who witnessed the plagues and to us when we read of the plagues in the Bible.
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth” Exodus Ch. 9 vs. 13 & 14
#4 What was Pharaohs reaction to the sending of the plagues?
Pharaoh refused to obey God’s commands/warnings to release His people (Israelite slaves). He hardened his heart towards God and the more God punished him the harder his heart became. He was a foolish and cruel man.
#5 Why can we be like Pharaoh when we hear about God at Sunday school?
All of the answers are true. We all, by our sinful natures, want nothing to do with Almighty God. We live our lives as we want to and seek to please ourselves rather than Him.
“But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you..” 1 Samuel Ch. 12 V.15
#6 If we continue to harden our hearts to Gods word and commandments all of our lives, what will happen to us when we die?
God will send us to Hell forever for refusing to take notice of His commands to repent of our sins. When you attend Sunday school or watch the lessons on the computer, it is very important that you listen carefully to what the teachers tell you. They teach you about the only way to get your sins forgiven and to go to Heaven, by believing that Jesus Christ died for you and repenting of your sinful life.
#7 Coronavirus (Covid-19) is a plague sent by God as a judgement upon the world. As ever, God is demonstrating his awesome power and His anger with sin and unbelief. What should we do?
We must realise that God is angry with us and that our sin must be punished. When we realise that we are sinners, we must humbly admit this to Almighty God, ask Him to forgive us and change the way we live our lives to please him (repent).
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin…”
2 Chronicles Ch. 7 v.14
