Esau wanted to kill Jacob because he had taken away his birthright by deception.

Jacob thought that Esau was still very angry with him after he had taken his birthright from him many years before and was worried that he might kill him and his family.

#4 Why did Jacob split his family into two different groups before he met Esau?

Jacob was concerned that if Esau attacked him and his family they would all be killed and none of his family would survive. By splitting into two groups it gave them a better chance of some of them surviving. He placed his closest family members at the back of the group to help protect them.

True prayer is a heartfelt pleading with God, to praise Him and acknowledge that we are unworthy sinners and to bring all our burdens to him and ask him to help us.

Jacob was wrestling with the Lord God who came in the form of an Angel. God did this to Jacob to show that He is all powerful, but also to serve as a reminder to Jacob for the rest of his life how the Lord had blessed him in that prayer for prevailing with Him.
