The two boys were very different, and they were enemies for many years.  God told Isaac and Rebekah that Jacob would be stronger than Esau.

Esau was very hungry.  But he was also very careless, and he gave up the birthright as though it meant nothing to him.

#6 How did Jacob try to get the blessing for himself?

He tricked his father.  He did get the blessing, because that was what God had decided – but God was not pleased with his lies.

#7 What happened after Isaac gave the blessing to Jacob, and not to Esau?

Esau was very angry, and wanted to kill Jacob.  However, he had spent his life not caring about the Lord, and sadly, he deserved to lose the blessing.

Lot was a farmer and chose to live near Sodom in a fertile area where his animals and crops would grow well and he would get rich quickly.

#4 At first, why did Lot choose to live near to Sodom and not actually in the city?

Lot had heard that Sodom was a city full of wicked people who hated God. Lot was a Christian who loved God and knew that being friends with the people in the city would lead him to do bad things and make God angry.

#5 Lot eventually moved into the city of Sodom and became rich and successful in his business. He and his family also became friends with the ungodly people living there and loved them more than God. Was this a good thing to happen to Lot and his family?

Lot was a Christian and loved God. However, he began to love the wicked sinful people of Sodom more than God as he spent more time with them. This made God very angry.

#6 God was so angry with the people who lived in Sodom that he decided to judge and destroy the city and all who lived there. However, God still loved Lot and some of his family and made sure that they were saved from His judgement because they were Christians. Who did God send to rescue Lot and his family from the city before He destroyed it?

God sent one of His Angels to lead Lot and some of his family safely out of Sodom.

If we love and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and do things that please Him, He will provide us with all we could ever need and more besides.
