Oh well. Perhaps you’d like to have another try and really think about the questions this time!
#1 When someone becomes a Christian, they are given a lot of new things. What are they given?
All of these things, and so much more are given by the Saviour to everyone who He saves.
#2 Joseph of Arimathea gave something to the Lord Jesus which was brand new. What was it? (Matthew 27 vs 60)
Joseph asked Pilate for the body of Jesus and then buried Him in his own new tomb. Of course, the Lord Jesus did not stay there for very long! He rose again on the third day.
#3 New things are not always good. The Israelite people of the Old Testament abandoned the worship of the true God and started to follow something new. They found out that there were terrible consequences for doing so. What was it that they started following?
The Israelites followed new gods – the gods of the surrounding nations – which meant that God left them. They found only trouble and sorrow from their wicked ways, but every time God graciously brought them back to Him again. What a longsuffering, kind and loving God He is!
#4 When the Apostle Paul went to Athens, he found that the people there really liked to listen to new things. They invited him to tell them something new at Mars hill, so he went along. What did he tell them? (Acts 17. 16-34)
He told them about the true God Who has made everything, and is the only true ruler of all things. He also told them that God commands everyone to repent because there is a day of judgement coming.
#5 After the Lord Jesus has returned to earth for the second time and judged the whole world, He has told us that He will give all His people new bodies, and that He will create something new for them. What is it?
God will remake the earth in sinless perfection for His people to live in with Him for ever. What a future Christians have!
#6 When a person becomes a Christian, God says that He will make them into a new _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ . What is it? (2 Corinthians 5:17)
He will make us new creatures. The verse in 2 Corinthians chapter 5 goes on to say, “old things are passed away: behold all things are become new.” In other words, if we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and become His followers, he will make us new people – people who have everlasting life, who are capable of obeying God’s laws and pleasing Him, who have a new heart which is full of joy and peace.
