#2 Over the past weeks we have been learning about someone in a series of lessons. Who have we been learning about?

“And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John ch 1 vs 14

#3 We can drink water which quenches our thirst for a little while, but Jesus can give us ‘living water’ so that we will never thirst again. What is this ‘living water’ that only Jesus Christ can give?

He is! Everlasting life given to us when Jesus saves us.  When sinners trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and repent of their sinful lives, He forgives all of their sins and ‘saves’ them from the power of sin and the Devil. He also gives them the Holy Spirit and promises them everlasting life.

“ But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life”  John ch 4 vs 14

#4 Jesus fed many people with just five loaves of bread and two fishes. How many people did the Lord Jesus feed with that food?

Jesus fed 5000 men, without counting the women and children who were with them. This is one of the amazing miracles of Jesus Christ.

“So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were sat down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost” John ch 6 vs 10 – 12

#5 The Bible tells us that in one sense we are all blind (spiritually blind). This means that, if we are not Christians and do not have the Lord Jesus as our Lord and Saviour ……

All these are true, and more besides. If we do not know the Lord Jesus Christ for ourselves, we are blind to all the important things in life.

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” 2 Corinthians ch 4 vs 3-4

#6 Jesus described Himself as the Good Shepherd. What type of people were shepherds?

Shepherds spent most of their time with their flocks in all weathers and seasons, day and night. There were thieves, wild animals and many other dangers to contend with while they kept their sheep safe, so they were most definitely tough and brave people.

“Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture” Psalm 100 vs 3

#7 Jesus Christ healed Lazarus from the dead and brought him physically back to life. What has Jesus Christ done which is even more amazing and glorious than this?

Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sinless life and then willingly died on the cross in unimaginable pain and suffering so that our sins could be forgiven. He was also resurrected (brought back to life), so that if by His grace (undeserved love) we are enabled to repent and believe on Him, we will have everlasting life with Him in Heaven. What can be more amazing and glorious than this!

Jesus said “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” John ch 3 vs 3

(Once spiritually dead, but ‘born again’ with the Holy Spirit and a new life in Christ)

A true Christian will be changed by God’s love and bear fruit. They will show love, joy, goodness and much more besides. True Christians do still sin, but they will be very sad when they do these things that are wrong and offend the God they love.
